Looking forward to November 7th

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

We’re very excited about the upcoming Shindig with The Shugarmakers! For those of you who don’t know, most of the members of The Shugarmakers were at the first official meeting we had on the idea of holding monthly dances. We call them the founding members of The Shindigs. Their lead guitar player, Jeff Staudinger, moved away to the Asheville, NC area last year and so they didn’t play a Shindig for the second season. Corey Unger filled the open position and they have been practicing and playing out together for a year now. Plus they added Bill Keos to play drums for our gig to really rock it out!

Also, we’ve been receiving orders already for the New Years’ Eve Shindig! It’s always a good idea to get your tickets early as there is a limit on capacity at the Tunbridge Town Hall. Speaking of tickets, the Season Passes will only be available thru Nov. 7th, so if you are considering that option, you may order online or they’ll still be available at the door during the next Shindig.

Looking forward to hearing Connie sing on Nov. 7th!

Third Season Kicks Off!

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

The Shindigs are back for the third season!

The Legendary Strafford Blues Band featuring Kat Murphy will kick off the season on October 3, 2009 (8-11pm). LSBB plays an electric and eclectic mix of red hot blues, swing and classic R&B.

All Shindigs are held at the Tunbridge Town Hall on the first Saturdays of the next 8 months.

There is one major change for the new season: We have to increase the price of admission because the cost of hosting these dances has gone up significantly. If our attendance sticks the average of last year’s Shindigs we should be able to cover the additional expenses at $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids and seniors.

One of the problems for us as the hosts is that we are required to pay the insurance for all 8 gigs upfront. To try to cover this cost we have decided to sell advance season tickets. We are offering 25 season passes that are good for all 8 Shindigs. At $8 per dance, the total would be $64 but as an incentive we are selling the season passes for $56 which gives one dance for free. The passes will be available for purchase at the first Shindig, securely online, or contact us if you know you’d like to purchase a season pass. There is a limited number available!

Many people tell us how grateful they are to have these dances in Tunbridge. We want to continue to host the Shindigs and we are hoping that the community will continue to support this venture despite the higher price.
